The journey

His friends and family knew him as a tough guy. Not someone who cries or breaks down easily. But he was also someone who laughs a lot and likes to spend time with friends and family. Not a serious kind of guy but very strong indeed. He was also known to be a very kind man helpful to the people in need. He pushed the door open and went in. It was the last thing he expected. What he saw was astonishing. He had seen everything in his life but this had shaken him to the core. He fell to the floor and started crying. He didn't know what to do and how to react to the situation. His hands were trembling and he didn't have any words to express himself. He was in heaven. Everything was white or so it seemed because the light was so bright that it was hard to see anything. After a few minutes when his eyes got adjusted to the bright light, he could see something. The place was stunning, it had beautiful and lush green trees with blossoming flowers; the people there wore white robes. It was so peaceful there. No noise, no pollution, no fighting, just peace and quiet. One of the men asked him – “Hello, what happened to you? How did you come here?” He thought about it for a while then he remembered that he had died in a car crash. In a fraction of a second, he was gone. One minute he was driving his car, humming a tune to his favorite song and the next minute a truck hit him. It lost control and in a matter of minutes it was all over. The car was crushed completely. He was still shaking from the shock. The other man asked him to sit down and relax for a while there. He told him that he was an angel and he is supposed to help him with his journey from the earth to heaven. “You can ask me anything you want. I am here to help. I will assist you with your transformation from a man to an angel. You don’t have to worry about anything now.” Said the angel “I’m still trying to process everything. Why did this happen? I was happy with my life. What will happen to my family now? How will they live without me?” He asked. “It’s God’s will. No one can question him. It was your time to die. You have fulfilled your role on earth and now it’s time for you to pass on. In regards to your family, they will be fine. They will learn to live without you. Their lives will move on. If you want we can go and visit them once but they won’t know you are there. Only you can see them.” Explained the angel “Yes, I would like to visit them once and see how they are.” He said anxiously. “OK, let’s go and see them” When they reached there they saw that his family had buried him and were very sad. But they were also saying that he had lived a very good and a healthy life. He had a loving and a doting wife; three children who loved him very much and grandchildren who adored him and loved to spend time with him. Listening to all of this, he was satisfied that although he will be missed immensely, his family will be alright. They will learn to live with this tragedy that has happened. “Now I can go. I can pass on to the next life.” He said to the angel who was standing right beside him. The angel patted him on his back and gave him a sweet smile. With this thought both of them disappeared.
