They read through the book and found out that there is a way you can create a reversal effect on time and it’s essential that you go back to the original time within the specific time limit otherwise you could be stuck here forever.
“How much time does it say” asked Rachel
“It says here that in total I had 30 days and I’ve been in this time for the last 25 days I only have 5 more days to get back” he said
“How will you get back? What do you have to do?” she asked
“It’s a tricky process; I’ll have to find a portal that will take me back”
“How will we find where the portal is?”
“Well, that is a good question. Let’s read ahead and find out” he said
“It says here that we will have to go back to the place where I originally came from, in our case, that tree on that road where my car collided” he continued
“Great, what do we do after going there?” she asked
“There is a specific time of the day we have to be there because at that particular time the moon is at the right position to open the time portal. Also, it says that we have to make this logo on that location and wait for it to work"
“What time do we have to be there?” she asked
“Around 8 o’ clock tomorrow night”
“Splendid” she said and both of them left for home, without being seen of course.
Next morning people were again seen outside their house, screaming and shouting, but they decided to just ignore them and wait for night fall.
As the sun went down, Roger and Rachel got ready. They packed everything they would need at the sight and went outside to their car. As they were driving down Rachel noticed something.
“Hey, I think that car is following us” she said
“Which one, that white one, can’t be? Who would be following us?” he said
“I hope you’re right honey” she said
As they reached that tree on the road they noticed quite a lot of cars behind them, people indeed had been following them.
“You are to be stopped, you are a troublemaker and you can’t do this anymore” shouted someone
“If you don’t surrender yourself we will have to take you down”
“Please listen to me; I’m not a bad person. I’m just doing what I’m supposed to, I’m not here to trouble anybody” he pleaded
“You are not a sane person. You are troubling everyone with your nuisance” said a man.
“You should be locked up” said everyone in unison.
Roger ignored their shouting voices and started drawing the symbol on the tree, citizens immediately moved forward to stop him but Rachel stepped up and stood in front of him to protect him. “Hurry up darling, I can’t hold them for much longer” she said “I’ll try honey” He quickly drew three interlocked petals symbol with a chalk and recited a prayer and waited for something to happen. “Well, what happened?” she asked holding her breath “Nothing’s happening, maybe we were wrong” he said and Rachel stood staring at him. At that very moment a bright shining light came from behind Roger. “Look” she said and everybody turned to see what was happening “Honey, quickly go through; I’ll hold the fort here” she shouted Without thinking much Roger swiftly jumped into the bright light and went through to the other side. A few seconds later the light switched off and everyone was left wondering whatever happened to Roger. Roger, on the other hand, was back in his time. He was back on the same road but this time no one was there to hurt him, everybody was going their own merry way. He looked around and only a few minutes had passed since he had been missing. He concluded the number of days in the other world were equal to number of minutes here, so if he had been gone for 25 days it had been only 25 minutes here in this world. When he went home his wife, Rachel was surprised to see him home so early in the day. “What happened, why did you come back so early?” she asked “Something very strange happened to me while on my way to work. Can you get me a cup of coffee please, will tell you everything” he said “Yes, of course honey” “One thing is for sure, I made the right decision” he said “What decision?” she asked “To marry you my love” he said and kissed her gently.
