He who wants everything every time will lose everything anytime…(part 1)
Jason pushed himself up on one elbow, groaned, and fell back to the floor. He tried to get his bearings but couldn’t think past the pounding in his head. He waited–maybe 15 seconds or so—and tried again. His head didn’t spin quite as much this time, so he looked around, he was on a road. But how did he get there?
“Hey, you alright buddy?” asked a passerby
“I don’t know. Can you help me up?” asked Jason
“Yes sure, come on” said the passerby as he helped him up
“What happened, you just banged yourself on the light pole?” he asked
“I did? I don’t remember anything” said Jason
“Take care buddy and go to a doctor if you can, you don’t seem alright” said the passerby as he went about his way.
Jason kept thinking what had happened before in the day, but couldn’t recall anything. He couldn’t remember anything for the last three months. There was a constant ringing in his head. He couldn’t shake it off.
He kept walking ahead. Suddenly a black SUV stopped right beside him and 2 men took him inside the car. They covered his face with a black cloth and took him away.
“Welcome back Mr. Black, we missed you” said a man wearing a black coat, signaling one of his men to remove the cloth from his face.
“Where am I? What do you want with me?” asked Jason.
“You are very clever Mr. Black, you didn’t tell us the whole formula” he said
“What formula? What are you talking about?” said Jason
“We know you know, just tell us and we will let you go” he said.
“I don’t know anything, who are you people? You must have mistaken me for someone else” clarified Jason.
“Sir, we wiped his memory for the last 3 months. He doesn’t remember anything. He’s telling the truth” one of the men whispered in the man’s ear.
“Sshh” he said.
“Then we will have to keep you here till you remember everything” said the man in the black coat.
Jason was escorted back to his old room and told to stay on the property until he remembered everything. The next morning, there was a knock on his door.
“Who are you? Look I don’t remember anything, so please don’t bother me” he said.
“I am not here to trouble you, I’m here to help you” said the girl in the red dress.
“Who are you again?” asked Jason
“I’m your girlfriend Patricia” she said
“We met here two months ago and when you left they wiped your memory for all the three months you were here, so that you don’t remember what you created” she said
“Why would they do that? What did I do here?” he asked
“I didn’t know at first, but when you left so suddenly without telling anyone, I got curious and did some research. You actually created a memory pill which lets one forget everything for a particular duration. They are dissolvable in any liquid, so the taker doesn’t know he’s taken anything. They are of 3 different variations, like 1 day, 7 days and 1 month and that’s why they are so unique” she explained.
“Oh my God, I created this pill. I can’t believe it. I’m awesome” Jason said grinning.
“No time for humor, we have to get to work” said Patricia.
“How do we do that? I’m stuck here” he said
“We will get you out of here. We have to live the life we planned for us remember?” she said
“Ah, ok. What do you have in mind?” he asked.
“We should lay low for 3 – 4 days and then make our move. I know exactly where everything is, which door opens what” she said.
“Wow, you really are something. How did I ever get you to go out with me?” he said
“Well, you are cute” she said with fluttering eyes.
For a week, day they stayed in their room and only went out to the lab a few hours a day. She was slowly getting him accustomed to his old routine and making him remember the formula for the pills he created.
“Hey, good morning darling” said Jason.
“You remember? You used to wish me good morning like this every day” she said
“I remember a few things but not everything” he clarified
“Good, then it means its working. You will remember everything in just a few days” she said excitedly
“I don’t need to remember everything, I just need to remember us” he said
“I knew you were the man for me” she said and kissed him gently.
A few days went by and Jason remembered bits and pieces of his previous life but not the formula he created.
