No language can express the power, the beauty and the heroism of a mother’s love (part 1)
“I’ve had enough of you. I’m not going to listen to you anymore” Aria said disgustingly.
“Why are you being so difficult? Give me some leeway” said Shane.
“I’m not being difficult Shane, just listen hear me out and then you can decide to do what you want. Ok?” asked Aria.
“Now listen very carefully, she is the one making all the trouble here. She is the reason you are miserable” she said showing him a picture.
“Are you crazy, Katana would never do anything like that and specially hurt me; she can understand black and white” explained Shane.
“Don’t be a fool and think carefully. I’m not trying to pit you against her, but it all makes sense. Think about it” she said.
“I need time to think. I will call you soon, take care sis” said Shane and left the room.
After getting home he lied down on his bed and thought about what Aria had said. Could it be possible? He thought and soon after he fell asleep.
He saw that he has entered a room; Katana is sitting there and talking to some guy.
“Hi, who’s the gentleman darling?” asked Shane.
“Umm…this is Robert. We work together” she said
“Funny, I’ve never seen him around before” said Shane
“Not now, we will talk about this later” said Katana and Shane left the room.
Once again, he saw that he was in a room and Katana was with the same man in a heated discussion. He called out to her and again she signalled him to wait.
He got up suddenly and realised that he had been dreaming but couldn’t understand what was happening. He got himself a glass of water and sat on the sofa.
“Hello” he said as his cell phone rang.
“What about, who’s calling?” he asked
“Come to the Café Montana at 1 pm today and you will know” said the voice on the phone
He was terrified. First his sister tells him that Katana is involved in something wrong then the bizarre dream and to top it all a random phone call telling him to meet at a café or he will pay for it.
It was 12:45 and he was still contemplating whether to go to café Montana or not. Still tossing the odds in his head, he decided to go and see what the whole thing was about.
As he reached the café, he took a table next to the window. He ordered coffee and waited there impatiently for the man on the phone.
“Is this seat taken?” asked a young woman.
“I’m waiting for someone, sorry” said Shane.
“I think you would want to talk to me” said the young woman and sat in front of him.
“Do I know you?” he asked
“No, just listen to me. You need to get me $250,000 in 2 days time. It is very important that you do.” she said
“Why should I do that? And who are you to tell me to do this stupid thing?” he asked
“Don’t ask questions now, just do it or else someone very close to you might get hurt” she said and left the café.
He was left stunned. He didn’t move for 20 minutes. Suddenly a waitress came and asked if he needed a refill. He said no and left for home.
While on his way, he thought of his wife whom he had lost a few years ago. She was a vivacious lady with a bit of an attitude and lots of friends. During their last days she had been very secretive and angry with him. He tried talking but couldn’t understand what was going on with her. A few days later she had been killed in a road accident.
He reached home and realised that someone was inside the apartment.
“Hello, who’s in here?” he called out
“It’s me, Katana”
“Oh, I got scared. Well, what are you doing here?” he asked
“Well, just wanted to have lunch with you” she said
“Uh, ok. Let’s go out then. You’re acting strange today, what’s up with you honey?” he asked
“Nothing, I was just wanted to spend some more time with you” she said
Throughout the lunch, Katana was silent, didn’t talk much, and just answered whatever Shane asked. He didn’t say anything to her and thought that he would talk to her later when she came home.
In the evening, Shane was worrying about the amount of money he had to gather in the next 48 hours. He called a few people to ask for a loan but that wasn’t enough, he needed more. He kept gathering money from all the possible ways that he could, still he was $100,000 short and the deadline was just 6 hours away.
